Ear Mite, Otitis Media Treatment

To ensure your pet's ear health, particularly if you notice them shaking their head or scratching their ears frequently, it's important to first determine whether they are suffering from ear mites or ear inflammation. Here’s how you can differentiate between the two:

Ear Mites: These typically cause intense itching, leading to frequent and vigorous scratching. The hallmark sign is a dark, coffee ground-like discharge within the ears, accompanied by a strong odor and visible inflammation. Pets will often shake their heads in an attempt to relieve discomfort.
Ear Inflammation (Otitis): This condition is characterized by redness and swelling of the ears, which may feel warm. The discharge from inflamed ears can vary from clear to yellow or greenish. 

The initial stage in treating both ear mites and ear infections involves cleaning the ear canal to make sure that secretions do not obstruct the absorption of the medication.

Ear Cleaner

In general, once per month is recommended. Breeds with long, floppy ears or dogs with infected ears, dogs who swim frequently may need to have their ears cleaned every other week, or even weekly.

Ear Inflammation- Ear Drops

How to use

If a dog's ear shows signs of inflammation, it's beneficial to first remove any excess dirt with an ear wash prior to applying the drops, which can significantly increase their efficacy.

Ear drops: 3~4 drops at a time. Use twice a day for 5-7 days. Or follow your veterinarian's advice.

Ointment

Details:

Treatment of ear infections: otitis media, otitis externa, otitis interna, ear infections and the symptoms they cause, such as itching, redness, swelling, inflammation, bad odor, and excessive discharge.

Four active ingredients: The four active ingredients in Ointment (triamcinolone acetonide, a powerful synthetic corticosteroid; Permethrin, an antifungal antibiotic; Permethrin,  synthetic neurotoxic pyrethroid class of medicine; and neomycin, an antimicrobial) offer four therapeutic results. It is antibacterial, antipruritic, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory.

Letter “L”: Its design fits cats’ and dogs’ ear canals, which are deep and like the letter “L”. It allows the ointment to penetrate the hard-to-reach places of their ear canals and covers all over the ear canal, which helps to present a more thorough antifungal effect.

Advanced mucous membrane adhesion technology: Mucous membrane adhesion agent + drug preparation, help to enhance the adsorption capacity of the drug effect, it is not easy to shake out after rubbing.

How to use

If ear mites are detected, it's advisable to initially cleanse your ears using an ear wash before administering the drops. This allows the medication to penetrate more effectively and enhances the overall effectiveness of the treatment.

After cleaning the ears. Squeeze 0.3g (one-pea-sized) into the ear canal and gently massage the ears; then wipe away excess ointment adhered to the auricle. Apply it once a day for 21 days. Or follow your vet’s directions.
